Lloyd’s Obituary
VEINOT, Lloyd Albert ~ age 80 of Paradise, NS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Albany, NS on May 9, 1944 he was a son of the late Clyde and Geneva (Rayfuse) Veinot.
Lloyd worked with Environment Canada Meteorological Service for 31 years where he retired as Officer in Charge of the Fredericton Weather Office. He was a past president of Pine Grove Cemetery in New Albany and past Vice-Commodore of the Oromocto Boat Club. Lloyd’s passion for anything with a motor especially his Dodge Ram was well-known by all. His enthusiasm for boating was instrumental in the revival of the Oromocto Boat Club in the mid 1970s. As a member of the Oromocto Snowmobile Club he enjoyed the snowmobiling aspect as well as working diligently to build and groom trails for the club. Over the years he also enjoyed camping with friends and spent many winters in Texas or Florida in his RV. Throughout his life he has enjoyed volunteering whether it be maintaining the watering tractor for the flower baskets in the community, helping with mowing lawns or providing guidance to others who were new to boating or RVing.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances (Caldwell); daughter, Stacey (Lee) Hopkins, Paradise, NS; son, Cory (Hien) Veinot, Guelph, ON; grandchildren, Matthew Harrison, Wolfville, NS; Henry Truong, Louis Truong, and Victoria Veinot, all of Guelph, ON; all of whom he is so proud. Lloyd is also survived by his brother, Ralph (Nancy) Veinot, Greenwood, NS; sister-in-law, Eileen Veinot, Toronto, ON; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his brother, Donald.
Someday beyond the sunset we shall meet again.
