Lionel’s Obituary
Lionel Gerard Landry
December 25, 1958-January 30, 2025
It’s with profound sadness that on January 30, 2025 we said goodbye to Lionel who passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his wife, sister and friends by his side after a long courageous battle with his illness.
Lionel was a hard-working man who lived life to the fullest. He started his career as an auto body repair man. He was a fisherman for several years and worked at d’Eon Boat Building until his health forced him to retire.
His passion was camping and fishing, where he was affectionally known as “The King” by his camping family who meant the world to him.
Lionel is survived by his loving wife, Frances Landry; sister, Myra Bourque; mother, Theresa Landry (Deveau) (101 years old); sons, Eric Landry (Cassy) and Ryan Garron (Carrie); grandchildren, Tucker, Bentley, Katie; his special little friend, Esmay; nephews, Mark and Tyler; niece, Jolyn. He was predeceased by his father, Gerard; maternal and paternal grandparents; brother-in-law, Cecil Bourque.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. in Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth. A burial will follow the service in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Amirault’s Hill. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Thank you to all the staff on 4 North of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for all the wonderful care they gave Lionel and the family in such a difficult time.
