Obituary of Linda Laporte
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Phyllis Laporte on July 24, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on September 29, 1945, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Josephine Laporte (née Desjardins) and the late Phillias Joseph Laporte. She was a cherished sister to Rachelle Campeau and Gloria Russ (Dan Russ).
Linda was a devoted aunt to Dan Campeau (Robin Manchester), Kerry Russ, and Kelly Scott (Lonnie Scott), and was predeceased by her nephew Duane Campeau (1996). Known lovingly as special “Inny” to Josephine Scott, Sophia Scott, Lillian Scott, Jamie Russ-Gillespie, Kevin Belaire, Matthew Campeau, and Christopher Campeau, Linda held a unique and treasured place in their hearts.
Linda dedicated over three decades of her career to Epps (1965–1998), and later continued to serve her community through her work at Canadian Tire from 1998 until her retirement in 2006.
She will be deeply missed by her dear friends Leana, Sabina, Maralyn, Connie, and her loyal fur friend Lucy.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the palliative care nurses at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (Prince Road), and especially family-friend Virginia and Bonus-Niece Robin, for their compassion and care.
Linda was more than just an aunt and sister — she was the magnet that pulled us all together. With her quick wit, nurturing spirit, and gentle humour, she made everyone feel truly seen and special. She turned ordinary moments into lasting memories, and her love extended not only to her family and friends, but also to every animal she cared for and every garden she lovingly tended. Her presence lit up every room, and she will be dearly missed.
As per Linda’s wishe’s cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7234) on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A private family service will take place at a later date. In memory of Linda, donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor and Es County or Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare – Palliative Care Unit.
