Linda Floyd Obituary
It is with great love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Mary Floyd (Arsenault) on February 25, 2025 with her husband and children by her side. We wish we could have had more than the 75 years you were here, but to our deepest sorrow your life was cut short by strokes. Linda was born in Saint John on July 24,1949 to Edmund and Rita Arsenault of PEI. She was the eldest daughter and the 3rd in line of their 8 children. Linda is survived by her husband Bob of 56 years, her children Sherry and Nicole (Kenneth) and honorary son Matthew; her grandsons James (Stefanie), Erik (Julia), Brady, Derrek, and Garett; her great grandchildren Jeyce, Grace and Olyver; along with her siblings, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Edmund and Rita and brothers George and Edmund (Skippy).
Linda was the heart of our family. She had the incredible ability to make everyone she met feel special and anyone who knew her will always remember that infectious laugh of hers. Whether it was remembering your favorite meal, listening intently to anything you had to say, putting up with Bob’s jokes, giving advice and encouragement when we needed it, she always did it with kindness, patience, love, and quiet grace. In her younger years, Linda had to deal with the early loss of her father and the responsibility of helping look after the household and siblings. She worked at St. Joseph’s hospital until marrying the love of her life Bob and becoming a military wife. Bob sure knew how lucky he was the day she agreed to go out with him, and they both had a love for each other that was incredible to see. She had numerous jobs in her lifetime but her biggest role was being an amazing mother to her two girls.
Linda’s favorite times were being with her family and friends. She loved laughing, singing along with the guitar, going to her trailer, walks on the beach, staying in the cabins in PEI, watching her grandsons at any event they were involved in, reading a good book, girls nights, having company pop in for a visit and especially her coffee. Linda had many great friends and treated everyone like family. She will be dearly missed but the memories of how she lived will always be with us. A special thank you to her sisters Erma and Carol for the shifts they had with mom at the hospital for the treasured extra time we had with her as well as to the palliative care team who cared for mom and allowed her dignity and peace.
