It is with tremendous sadness, and many tears, that we announce the passing of our beloved Lillian Catherine Ann Isbill (Snow), age 70, on January 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with both COPD and Cancer. While originally from Bell Island, NL, Lillian resided in Bloomfield, NB.
Lill is predeceased by her parents, Jack and Shirley Snow, sister Jackie Toner, brother Paul Snow, father-in-law Ernest Isbill, brother-in-law Bob Isbill and sister-in-law Elsie Isbill. Leaving to mourn, with the fondest of memories is her husband Kenny Isbill, son Scottie Martin (Jill), daughter Tiffany Shaw (Laurie), and grandkids Isabella, Jack, Kristofer, Avrie, and Annie. Siblings Joan Snow (Carla), Diane Power (Patrick), Daphne Ondrik (Morgan), John Snow (Patsy), Elizabeth Beer (Stephen), Marina Sheppard (Jeff), Connie Skanes (John), Sonya Snow, mother-in-law Evelyn Isbill, sister-in-law Debbie Harper (Stephen), John Isbill, and sister-in-law Sharon Isbill and her very special friend, and brother-in-law Joe Toner.
Lill left her beloved home of Bell Island at a tender age of 18 to explore the big city of Toronto. After spending a short period of time there… she moved to Saint John NB, where she settled to raise her family and spend time with her kids and grandkids. Although Scottie moved to Toronto, while Tiffany lived next door, they visited often and Lill enjoyed every bit of time they spent together. She dearly loved her grandkids and spoke of them often. You could always see the pride in her face, and the love in her eyes when she spoke of them.
Some say courting a person is sometimes a lifelong journey… well you could certainly say that about Kenny and Lill. They knew each other socially for over 40 years, were great friends before that friendship turned to love… and they enjoyed the last 20 years as a couple. They even made it official on June 6, 2024, when they finally tied the knot. They then visited Humber Valley Resort in NL to show off her new diamond ring to her family. She visited there twice over the past couple of years and often said, it was a little piece of heaven as she sat on the deck overlooking the Humber River. Lill and Kenny spent a great deal of time together travelling over the years, visiting both Ontario and Newfoundland on a number of occasions, vacationing down south with her siblings, and spending time relaxing in their lovely home in Bloomfield.
Over the years, we seen the house grow from a little small bungalow to a lovely, comfortable, country home with trees and grass galore. It was the joy of Lill’s life and you could see her on a nice sunny day, sitting out on the deck, under the umbrella, in the shade, relaxing with one of her many dogs.
Anyone who knew Lill would know that she had 3 things in her life that she enjoyed the most… visiting Fredericton and playing bingo, and boy did she win often… or so she told us so… playing cards in the early years… she loved her game of poker, and in the later years it was a good old game of school… she was very good at both… scratching lotto tickets… this was how she passed her days… she even travelled with a clipboard full of them… it became quite the hobby…and her tickets and lastly her pet dogs… which she had many and loved equally the same…Captain, Lucky, Maggie and most recently Tilley. These were like kids to Lill, and that’s exactly how she treated them… to say they had the run of the household, and the bed… would be an understatement.
Although Lill had some health issues over the past several years, it would be true to say she enjoyed her life, her family, her home, and everything it encompassed. Her smile was infectious, her laugh was contagious and her heart was too big for her little body… She will be missed tremendously by all those who loved her…
To honor Lill’s wishes, there will be no public viewing at this time, as there will be a celebration of her life, and the spreading of her ashes, during the summer at her hometown of Bell Island. In lieu of a visit to the funeral home, the family asks that you take a moment and visit a loved one that you may not have had close contact in the last little while instead… and reconnect… make every visit count.
In Memory… and in Celebration…of someone who made this world Brighter and a Better Place… each and every day!
