Lieselotte Muller Obituary
MULLER, Lieselotte (nee Schmidt) March 13, 1936 – February 8, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share that our beautiful, sweet mom Lisa passed away at St. Joseph’s at Fleming surrounded by love, on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at age 88. Beloved wife of Rolf A. Muller (predeceased 1975). Cherished mother of Heidi St. Thomas (Mike), Sylvia Shea (Terry), Greg Muller (Debbie), who are incredibly thankful and eternally grateful to have been blessed with such a wonderful mother. Beloved Omi of Trisha (Chris), Sarah (Jamie), Rose (Cormac), Corey (Courtney), Noah (Anne), Amber (Ahmed). Beloved great-Omi to Ryder, Myley, Kayden, Hunter, Beverly and Levi. One of mom’s greatest joys was spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family (Mandi, Mike, Matt and families). Mom was born in Germany on March 13, 1936 to Willy and Anna Schmidt (predeceased). She is survived by her beloved brothers Herbert Schmidt (Renate), Manfred Schmidt (Maria) and was predeceased by her brother Harald (Marion) and her sister Traudel (Josef). Mom moved to Canada from Germany in 1954 at the tender age of 18 to marry the love of her life Rolf Muller. They initially lived in Quebec where Heidi was born and then settled in Peterborough a few years later, where Sylvia and Greg were born. After Rolf passed away in 1975 when mom was only 39, she got a part time job at the Sears Garden Center. Then later, spent many years in the Sears hardware department, where she was known for hard work, great service and more importantly her beautiful blonde hair that she so expertly crafted into amazing and perfect hairstyles. Mom had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh. Her life was defined by the kindness, love, compassion and generosity she showed to everyone she met. Our mom always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in life with courage, dignity and a positive attitude. A selfless example of God’s love and a dedicated Christian. She was truly an angel here on earth. We are thankful for the lessons she taught us by example and are grateful that she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Although mom’s last years were challenging and sometimes heartbreaking because of Alzheimer’s, mom touched the lives of the staff at St. Joseph’s at Fleming, as she did throughout her life with everyone she met. A special thank-you to all the staff at St. Joe’s for the care and love they showed mom. To our dear mom, we love you and miss you terribly but take comfort in knowing your struggles are over and you are at peace. Bis wir uns wiedersehen Mama. Friends will be received at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH 463 Highland Rd. Peterborough on Saturday February 22, 2025 from 11:00 am – 12 pm. Funeral service to follow at 12 pm. Reception to follow in church hall. Private family interment at a later date. In memory of Lisa, donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church, St. Joseph’s at Fleming, the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of your choice. Flower deliveries will be accepted at the church from 12-4 pm on Friday February 21st.
