Levi Robinson Obituary
Levi Jacob Robinson passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, in Hinton, Alberta, on December 16, 2024, at the young age of 23. Levi was the third son born to Cody Robinson and Corine Dickerson on March 7, 2001, at the Hinton General Hospital. His older brothers, Branden and Tanner, were beyond thrilled the day their new baby brother came home. It was that day that we all started “spoiling the baby”. From a little boy, Levi loved to go fast. Whether it was on a pedal bike, quad or dirt bike, he had a fearless appetite for action. When he wasn’t tearing it up on anything with wheels, he loved spending time with his Grandpa, looking after and riding his horses. As a hockey player, he played as both a skater and goaltender, from Timbits to the second to last year of minor hockey. Levi started a Heavy-Duty Mechanic apprenticeship at Caylor Contracting in Grade 10, and eventually graduated from Harry Collinge High School in 2019. He received a scholarship for “Auto Industry Apprenticeship” awarded to a student pursuing an apprenticeship in mechanical technologies. He also earned “Repsol Oil & Gas” awarded to a student attending post-secondary institute in engineering, environmental studies or fossil fuels related trade industry. After high school, Levi decided he wanted to get into equipment operating like his Stepfather Tommy and brother Tanner. He worked at Big Horn Mine and Jaycee ENT. as an operator. He really liked running the excavator and dozer and was becoming very competent at both. While starting off his career, he still made sure to have fun on his time off. Going out camping with family and friends, riding his dirt bike (with its front tire in the air more often than not). Unfortunately, after his diagnosis of Stage 4 cancer in late 2021, at just 20 years old, Levi’s operating career had to come to an end. He started intense chemotherapy, which he went through from November 2021 to February 2024. Despite that, Levi never stopped going through life with that big smile on his face. He learned to bake and cook with his mother, something he was so happy about. He traded his dirt bike for a quad, and continued riding and camping. He spent a lot of time out on the golf course, learning the game and this past summer spent almost every weekend mastering the game with his brother Branden. He got his motorcycle license to be able to go riding with his father. Levi also got his firearm and hunting licenses, which led to him going out and getting 2 deer. He then learned how to process, cook, and smoke the meat, making it into jerky, pepperoni, steaks and burgers. In doing all this despite his circumstances, Levi inspired and left a lasting impression on all those around him.
Levi leaves to cherish his memories: his father Cody Robinson of Hinton, Ab. His mother and stepfather Corine and Thomas Dickerson also from Hinton Ab., his 2 special brothers, Branden (Natasha) & Tanner Robinson of Hinton, Ab., his paternal grandparents Jim and Cheryl Robinson of Mayerthorpe, Ab., his maternal grandparents of Blackfalds, Ab., Herb and Judy Unger.
