Easton, Leslie
Dad was born October 26, 1931, in Glen Morris, or the “Glen” as he fondly called it and spent his early years there until moving to Galt in the early 50’s where he lived until his death. Predeceased by his mother and father, Myrtle and Emerson Easton, 1st wife Beatrice (1987) and 2nd wife Nancy (2012). Beloved daughters Diana Horsley (1993) son in law Jim Horsley (deceased) and Debra Duggan (2019), stepson Bradley Betts, brother Stan, and sister Loreen Hagey. Survived by brother Stewart, sisters, Bev Garner, (Jay) and Linda Durnford, (Roy). Much loved Dad and will be deeply missed by his son Don Easton (Mitzi), and daughters, Pat Lemieux, Nancy Clark (Jim) as well as his son in law Pat Duggan. Also left to mourn are his stepchildren, Teresa, Tina (Wayne), Charles, the late Bradley (Heather) and their families. Cherished Grandfather/Great grandfather to too many to list. I think the last count was around 20 plus. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dad will be missed and remembered by many friends he made in his 93 years. Over the years, Dad spent many hours volunteering in the Community as President/Treasurer of Galt Minor Softball as well as coaching and umpiring with them. After his own kids were grown, he then got involved again when he coached his Grandson Donnie Lemieux’s travel team for many years. He also spent a few years coaching 2 of his daughters, Diana and Pat, when they played in the Cambridge Ladies Fastball League. As he got a little older, he also went back as a player in the slow pitch league. He was also a member of the Cambridge Hornets executive for many years and was the dedicated bus driver for the team and traveled many miles in that old yellow bus. A highlight he always talked about was the 82/83 season bus trip to NFLD for Eastern Championship, which they won and then went back to Cambridge to play for the Allen Cup which was won by defeating the western team from St. Boniface. Dad was a former employee of Bennet Chev Old’s where he worked as a Parts Manager. He retired after more than 40 years of service but then went back to work part time as a limousine driver for AMH taking passengers to and from the airport for several years. Dad loved watching the Blue Jays, Leaf’s, and Buffalo Bills even though there were times he just yelled at them through the TV set. He also loved camping and travelling with his lifelong friends from the Glen, Clark, Sharp, Miller and McCrea families and many escapades of these trips and shenanigans have been shared with his grandchildren.
