With deep sorrow and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of Leonid Sonatin, who left this world far too soon on March 20, 2025, at the age of 38. Leonid was a man of incredible warmth, integrity, and quiet strength. He was the beloved husband of Amanda, who was his partner, best friend, and the love of his life. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, resilience, and unwavering love. He was a devoted and proud father to Andrea and Ezio, who were the center of his world and his greatest joy. His legacy will live on through them.
Leonid was the cherished son of Oksana and the late Sergiy, whose love and guidance shaped the compassionate and generous soul he became. He was a loving brother to Alex, with whom he shared a lifelong bond of friendship and family. He was also a treasured son-in-law to Frank and Pat, who admired and loved him deeply.
He held a special place in the hearts of his extended family, including his brother-in-law, Antonio (Patricia), his nieces, Madison and Hailey, and his sister-in-law, Alessia, all of whom will carry his memory with tenderness and affection.
Leonid was a steady presence — calm, kind, and always ready with a quiet smile or thoughtful word. Whether it was helping a friend, offering his time, or simply being there without needing to be asked, he lived his life with quiet humility and deep purpose.
Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the lives he touched will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and deep familial love.
Visitations will take place at the DeMarco Funeral Home (Woodbridge Chapel) (8003 Weston Road, Woodbridge, Ontario, Tel- 905-850-9500) on Thursday March 27, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-9pm. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held the following day, with strictly the Immediate Family Members only. Private Cremation to be held at a later date.
