Rita was called home on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Peter Lazet (1980). Mother of Louise and Ron van Amerongen of Exeter, Paul Lazet of Goderich, Yvonne and Orval de Boer of Kakabeka Falls, Nelly-Rose and Eugene Bradley of Kitchener, and Diane and David Clark of Auburn. Oma of 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Sister and sister-in-law of Chris and Sue Guetter, Harry and Joan Guetter, and Theresa Bakker. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Nellie Guetter, siblings; Peter Guetter, Jean DeJong, and Daanie Guetter and her granddaughter Sheena Bradley.
Rita was born in The Netherlands and immigrated to Canada on August 1, 1949, when she was 18 years old. Following the passing of her husband, mom enrolled to work and train as a Homemaker, in which she was very proud of. She lived at Holland Christian Homes for 34 years and made her home there.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday from 11:30 – 12:30, where Rita’s funeral service will be held at 1 PM. Interment Clinton Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) would be appreciated.
