Lazar Babaev, a loving husband, devoted father, caring grandfather and adored great- grandfather, passed away on February 6, 2025, in North York, Ontario at the age of 77. Born on May 26, 1947, in Tashkent, USSR, he immigrated his family to Bat Yam, Israel in 1992 where they lived a beautiful life, before immigrating once more to Toronto, Canada in the year 2000.

Lazar’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Liza, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and partnership, and their love story will continue to inspire generations to come.
As a father, Lazar was a pillar of strength and wisdom, always offering guidance and unwavering support to his daughters, Milana and Rita. His love for them knew no bounds, and he took great pride in watching them grow into the remarkable women they are today. His daughters, in turn, cherished him as a source of comfort and inspiration, and his memory will forever live on in their hearts.
Lazar’s role as a grandfather brought him immeasurable joy. His granddaughter, Liora, and grandson, Samuel, were the apples of his eye, and he cherished every moment spent with them. As well as Samuels girlfriend, Amalia who referred to him as “grandpa”, and who he also greatly cherished. His kindness and wisdom left an undeniable mark on their lives, and they will forever be grateful for the love and guidance he provided.
He was known for his generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others. His warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Lazar’s legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
