Lawrence Keating Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the family announces the passing of Lawrence Ronald Keating, which occurred on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on April 19th, 1942, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Harold and Kathleen (Gould) Keating. Lawrence worked as a Banker at various banks as well as for the Provincial Government before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed playing hockey, hunting and bowling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Lawrence is survived by his loving and devoted wife Marilyn (Trafton) of 33 years; sons Peter Keating (Rhonda) of Bains Corner, James Keating (Shelly) of Saint John; step-son Brent Crawford (Norma) of Willow Grove; step-daughters Contance Trevors (Billy) of Miramichi, Lorraine Clinton (Mike) of Saint John; sisters Mary London (Roy) of Ontario, Trisha Sistili (Randy) of Ontario, Linda Whittaker of Brown’s Flat as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Wayne.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home. 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). As per Lawrence’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Lawrence may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
