C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Laurent Paulin, 75 ans, le dimanche 27 avril 2025 à Moncton. Né à Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël au Nouveau-Brunswick, il était le fils de feu Léonidas et feu Hélène (Haché) Paulin.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Dianne (Robichaud) Paulin et ses deux fils, Frédéric (Cassandra Lafitte) de St. John’s, NL et leurs filles Alessandra et Camille ainsi que Mathieu (Odile Paquette) de Drummondville, QC et leurs filles Olivia et Ophélie. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses frères et soeurs, Bernard (Eileen Ruest) de Fredericton, Pierrette (Daniel Savoie) de Bathurst, Jeannine (Paul Green) de St. John’s, NL, Monique (Simon Robichaud) de Memramcook, Madeleine (Jacques Grantham) et Berthe (Marcel Légaré) de Québec, QC et Bertin (Nicole Pinet) de Chambly, QC. Il laisse également dans le deuil sa belle-mère, Anita Robichaud et son beau-frère, Bernard Robichaud de Shippagan, sa belle-soeur, Gracia
Robichaud de Fredericton ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces.
Laurent était un homme passionné et déterminé. Il a occupé plusieurs fonctions: gérant général de l’usine Swim Bros. Fisheries de Shippagan, divers postes au sein du ministère des Pêches et de l’Aquaculture du NB entre autres directeur adjoint de la Commission des prêts aux pêcheurs. Il a été le premier gérant du Centre Marin de Shippagan. Par la suite il occupera plusieurs fonctions à Pêches et Océans Canada qui lui ont prévalu plusieurs prix de mérites et reconnaissances notamment un certificat d’excellence pour sa contribution exceptionnelle au Programme de vérification à quai, une reconnaissance pour une contribution
exceptionnelle à la réponse de Pêches et Océans Canada dans la décision de l’Affaire Marshall et un prix de mérite pour sa contribution exceptionnelle à Pêches et Océans Canada.
La famille désire remercier le personnel du Pavillon Landry au Faubourg du Mascaret pour les bons soins prodigués à Laurent avec respect et dignité.
Les visites auront lieu au Salon funéraire Fergusons au 1657, chemin Mountain à Moncton le mardi, 3 juin 2025 de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 19h00 à 21h00 et le mercredi 4 juin 2025 de 10h00 à 11h00 suivies de la célébration de la vie.
En mémoire de Laurent, des dons peuvent être faits au Centre d’oncologie Dr Léon Richard ou à la Fondation du CHU Dumont.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Laurent Paulin, age 75, on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Moncton. Born in Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Léonidas and the late Hélène (Haché) Paulin.
He is survived by his wife Dianne (Robichaud) Paulin and his two sons, Frédéric (Cassandra Lafitte) of St. John’s, NL, and their daughters Alessandra and Camille, as well as Mathieu (Odile Paquette) of Drummondville, QC, and their daughters Olivia and Ophélie. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Bernard (Eileen Ruest) of Fredericton, Pierrette (Daniel Savoie) of Bathurst, Jeannine (Paul Green) of St. John’s, NL, Monique (Simon Robichaud) of Memramcook, Madeleine (Jacques Grantham) and Berthe (Marcel Légaré) of Quebec City, QC, and Bertin (Nicole Pinet) of Chambly, QC. He is also mourned by his mother-in-law, Anita
Robichaud, his brother-in-law Bernard Robichaud of Shippagan, his sister-in-law Gracia Robichaud of Fredericton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Laurent was a passionate and determined man. He held various positions throughout his career: General Manager of the Swim Bros. Fisheries plant in Shippagan, and several roles with the New Brunswick Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, including Assistant Director of the Fisheries Loan Board. He was the first manager of the Shippagan Marine Centre. He later held various positions with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, earning several merit awards and recognitions, notably a Certificate of Excellence for his outstanding contribution to the Dockside Monitoring Program, recognition for his exceptional contribution to Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s response to the Marshall Decision, and a merit award for his exceptional contribution to the department.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Landry Pavilion at the Faubourg du Mascaret for the respectful and dignified care provided to Laurent.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Tuesday June 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesday June 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life.
In memory of Laurent, donations may be made to the Dr. Léon Richard Oncology Centre or to the CHU Dumont Foundation.
Arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home.
