Departed from this earth at the age of 85 on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.
Lars, of Wasaga Beach, was born in Sweden to parents Erik and Ina (nee Gustafsson) in 1939; he then immigrated to Canada in the mid-sixties. He is survived by his brother Matz in Sweden. Following a 30-year marriage that unfortunately ended in divorce, Lars met Rita in 2012 and they were each other’s best friends and travel companions. Lars was a gentle soul, humble and kind and will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
At Lars’ request, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Friday, February 14, 2025 for a come and go “Celebration of Love” with words of wisdom being shared at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lars to the Scott Mission or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
