Larry Whitecotton Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Larry William Whitecotton. Larry passed away on July 2, 2025, at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta with family by his side. He was just a few weeks short of his 81st birthday.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his children: Jay Whitecotton, Crystal Cardinal (Grant) and William Whitecotton Rubio and his cherished grandchildren: Max Whitecotton and Kyler Cardinal; and his siblings: Louise Langlois (Elmer), Sue Ferguson (Dave), Myrna Bruns (Bill), Cathy Bolin (Bob), Marty Whitecotton (Laurie), Julie Brown (Dave), Laurie Stol (Albert), Sister-in-law Susan Whitecotton, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Whitecotton and his brother Steve Whitecotton (Susan).
Born in Lacombe, Alberta in 1944, he was the eldest son of William and Mary. He valued hard work and spent his early years working on the family farm. The bulk of his working years were spent in the oil patch as a Mud Man.
Larry was a very generous soul who helped anyone who needed it. He absolutely loved nature and that is where he felt the Lord’s presence the most, walking in the woods. He had a fierce love for his kids and loved spending quality time with them. Larry had a competitive side and especially enjoyed: playing Gin Rummy, pool and golf. He had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor right up until the end!
Larry’s family would like to thank the staff at Rockyview General Hospital. A special thank you to his sister Myrna who was an invaluable support.
