Larry John Guimond Obituary
With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Larry J. Guimond on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 72. A proud father of Colleen (Albert), Shannon (Ryan), and Melanie (Darcy) and grandfather of Fiona, Patrick, Talia, Alberto, Claire, Hazel, Diego, and Maeve.
Born and raised in Ontario, Larry’s passion for storytelling shaped the many connections he made throughout his life. His career took him through the worlds of insurance, real estate and, later in life, his true passion of writing. His words brought joy to many, and he found great fulfillment in seeing his crime stories published and immersing himself in the Eastern Canadian writing community.
In retirement, Larry found his home in Stephenville, Newfoundland, where he embraced the beauty of the land and the warmth of its people. Whether it was playing a round of golf at the Harmon Seaside Links course, volunteering in the community or sharing a story over a cup of coffee and a long walk, he built a life rich with connection and joy.
Following his wishes, a private cremation has taken place, and a memorial will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the kind staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital and at Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing for all their care and attention as well as dear friends Jennie Nurse and Sharon Vallis.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Stephenville Lions Club.
