Larissa Calfrobe Obituary
Larissa Calf Robe – Iitonohtaikiyaki (Singing Beside Woman). It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, relative and friend Larissa Calf Robe who born March 7, 1988 in Calgary, Ab. Larissa graduated from Siksika Nation High School in 2007. She had begun her career with the Siksika Board of Education in September 2008 with Chief Old Sun School. She obtained and earned her Early Childhood Education Diploma in 2015 from the Lethbridge College. Larissa’s career path took her to Siksika Nation High School from September 2014 to present day where she had taught the Blackfoot Language and Culture to all junior high students and a senior high Siksika 10 class. Larissa had a special bond and relationship with her students from very young ages in grade 1 to senior high grade 12. She was a gentle soul and calming in nature that staff and students were drawn to her for conversation, laughter and hugs. She also was a coach to SNHS basketball and volleyball teams. Larissa was an avid Handgame player and travelled all over Canada and USA with family members and friends to play handgames. She also taught handgames at SNHS where her team had won numerous awards and tournaments. She had immense love for all her handgame family near and far. Larissa had also made her cursillo in 2012 with the theme of Precious Jesus and her family was St. Catherine.
Larissa leaves behind her spouse Redmond/Reddy Waterchief. Children: Sage, Russell, Inii, Redmond Jr., Tylee and Anasia. Grandfather Matthew AYM, Dad Eddy Calf Robe Jr., Sisters: Star (Jason) Big Eye and AJ Calf Robe, Niece Summer Big Eye. Mother-in-law Gina WC. Great Aunt: Ruth Scalplock. Traditional mother Roberta Olds, Adopted siblings: Cassie B., Reno CR, Lyndon BH, Jocko McH, Lynsey AYM and Kenny TS. Aunts and Uncles: Noran CR, Delbert SL, Shirley AYM, Vanessa AYM, Rennie AYM, Randy HB, Wanda CR and Sharon CR and Louise Minde. Aunts: Angie AYM, Vivian AYM and Tina AYM; Northern Family Members: Moise Paul, Mona Trottier, Waskahat Family: Veronica, Mike, Julia, Annette, Cousin Elise M.
Predeceased by her mother Zena CR; Grandparents: Ed and Marie CR, Georgina AYM. Aunts and Uncles: Donna C, Kathy CR, Wilfred CR, Janice Grey Eyes (CR), Sonny CR, George CR, Bruce CR, Larry CR, Arthur and Nora AYM, Art AYM, Randy AYM, John AYM, Rosella AYM and Lorraine AYM; her best friend Tracey Poor Eagle.
Larissa’s extended families: Calf Robes, Ayoungman, Wolf Legs, Stevens, Breakers, Calfs, Scalplocks, Sun Walks, Mayfields, Waskahats, Paul. The family apologizes if we have missed any family members. We extend our gratitude and heartfelt thank you to those who sat with us at hospital, those who have been praying for our Larissa and family, those who donated food, drinks, monetary items. Many thanks to Foothills Hospital ICU Unit nurses and doctors, STARS Air Ambulance, Siksika Fire & EMS, SBOE Superintendent Chris Scout and Assistant Superintendent Wanda Calf Robe.
Wake services will take place on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at the Siksika Piiksapi Memorial Arbour at 3pm for family and relatives. The public is welcome to join the family at 6pm. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday March 5, 2025 at Siksika Piiksapi Memorial Arbour with the final viewing 9am – 11am; Funeral service to begin at 11am. Burial will take place at Little Washington Cemetery. Feast to follow at the Siksika Piiksapi Memorial Arbour after the burial.
