It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Lana Annette Gilbert, who left us too soon on December 26th, 2024, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
Born to Sheila and Leslie Gilbert on January 29th, 1972, in Bracebridge, Ontario. Lana brought love and light to many, including Gail Dewland (Bill) who was like a second mother to her. She was the devoted and loving wife to her soulmate, Sam (Robert) Stahls, and adored by her older sister Lisa, and brother-in-law, Paul Stratton.
Lana’s love for her family knew no bounds as she will be remembered by Wendy and Tim Prothero, Roger and Heather Stahls, Larry and Bonnie Stahls, and Wayne and Wendy Stahls. She was a selfless aunt to her nieces Kira, Grace, Michelle, Megan, Melanie, and Nicole whom she loved unconditionally. Her memory will be cherished by her cousins, friends, and the many lives she touched.
She was a loyal employee of Metro for 22 years, where her legendary cheese bread became a favourite at the bakery. Lana loved cheering on the Blue Jays, rocking out to Bon Jovi, capturing wildlife through her photography, bird watching, and traveling with the love of her life.
Lana will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her. While we wish we had more time with her, we will honor her memory by cherishing the laughter, love, and joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone she knew.
A celebration of Lana’s life will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Bracebridge Legion, 168 Muskoka Road, Bracebridge, ON.
