Kroening, Kurt Wilhelm Hermann (July 1, 1925 – January 14, 2025)
Passed away, peacefully, after a long and well-lived life, our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Kurt Wilhelm Hermann Kroening, on January 14, 2025, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, in his 100th year. Kurt was a resident of Extendicare Peterborough and was formerly of Johnson Crescent, in Simcoe. Kurt was born in Stettin, Germany, to Hermann and Olga (Henke) Kroening. For many years, Kurt was employed with General Mills. In his spare time, he has a passion for bee keeping on his country property. Kurt was an avid traveller making numerous trips to Europe where he would drive through out Europe enjoying the history and culture in many countries. Kurt also travelled through out Canada and the United States driving to all 10 provinces and all 50 states, even making a trip to Southern Mexico. Kurt is survived by his loving and much-loved wife, Ingeborg (Modrow) Kroening, of Aylmer. Always a caring father to Ralph (Susan) Kroening, of Lindsay, Ontario and their children Mark (daughter Claire) and Ryan; Dorothy Rouatt (Hugh Mckenzie), of Aylmer.
In keeping with Kurt’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be neither public visitation nor a funeral service.
