With profound sadness, the Power family announces the sudden passing of Kevin Power on March 29, 2025 at age 73.
He is predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Isabel Power, and his brothers-in-law Dominic McDonald and Edward Allen. He is survived by his daughter Melanie (Werner Antweiler); grandchildren Jakob and Simon; step-children Jennifer DiCresce (Hoss Gifford) and Jess Turner (Terry Lorentz); step-grandchildren Lochlain, Conall, and Maeve; siblings Jerome Power (Margaret), Cecilia McDonald, and Deborah Allen; nieces and nephews Donny, Amy, Terry, Blair, Dale, Danielle, Patrick, and Paula. He will be missed by his beloved partner Rosemary Bellew.
Kevin was well known for his generosity, kindness, and boisterous humour. He found joy in live music, his cars, sharing meals with loved ones, and the companionship of his two cats Hobo and Autumn. Kevin’s presence, laughter, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kevin had a distinguished career in banking and finance across Ontario and Newfoundland. In retirement he returned to Cupids where he embraced community life. He was active in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 65 and was serving as President at the time of his passing.
Visitation will be held at Broughton’s Funeral Home, Brigus NL on Friday, April 4, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on Saturday, April 5, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Prayer service will take place on Friday April 4, 2025 at 7:30 pm. Anyone is also welcome to share their thoughts or memories. A funeral service will take place at St. Patrick’s Church on Saturday, April 5, at 2:00 pm, followed by interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. A reception will be held afterward at The Royal Canadian Legion, Brigus.
