Kenneth Miller Obituary
Kenneth Peter Miller passed away in Creston on February 19, 2025, cherished and loved.
Ken was born in southern Saskatchewan on March 17, 1934. He spent his childhood with his Grandparents, Mike and Mary Miller, alongside his 6 Aunts and Uncles. Ken lived and worked on the family farm until the age of 17 , when he moved to the city of Regina Saskatchewan.
Soon afterwards, Ken met Dorothy Vaudrin and they were married in 1956. They welcomed their three daughters, Shirley, Sandra and Sharon. For 30 years Ken and Dorothy remained in their same home. The busy years of raising family with careers were shared by many friends and family. The door was always open to others and Ken was a great resource for many, well respected and loved. His laughter always abundant.
In Ken’s career from changing tires to managing tire stores, he then joined the James Brothers in a new adventure in 1979. Along with the 3 brothers, they established Sasken Tire Suppliers. The warehouse supplied the already existing 3 James Tire Stores that then became 12 locations across Saskatchewan.
Ken left the company in 1990 at the age of 56 to retire to the Canyon BC property that he and Dorothy had purchased in 1980. Finally, they were to build their own home with great delight. It was Ken and Dorothy’s dream come true.
After 48 years of marriage to Dorothy, she passed in 2004. Ken then met and married Signe Lind in 2006. He gained 2 more daughters, Candy and Kim.
Ken and Signe enjoyed volunteering with Citizens on Patrol in Creston for 13 years. Ken also received the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Medal and the Governor General’s Medal for volunteering. He was also a dedicated member of the Catholic Church, and a long-time member of Knights of Columbus, where he very much enjoyed the work and camaraderie with the other Knights.
Ken found great enjoyment with his family, extended family and the many Grandchildren.
Hobbies included golfing, fishing, gardening, canning, winemaking, woodworking, yard sales, camping and travel. He loved living on his acreage. Ken and Signe then downsized in 2023 to Creston, BC.
Ask yourself, every day, where you can be most useful and then TAKE ACTION.
