Kenneth “Choly” Wayne Warchola Obituary
Kenneth Wayne Warchola
“Choly”
July 7, 1942 – March 2, 2025
It is with deepest sorrow and grief we announce the passing of a good man, and a cherished member of his family, Kenneth Wayne Warchola, known affectionately as “Choly”, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 with the love of his family surrounding him. His love and gentle way will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Kenneth will be remembered by his loving wife of 62 years, Maureen; his legacy will live on through his children, Kevin (Heather) Warchola and Dana Warchola; grandchildren, Steven (Ciarra), Taylor Hutchinson, James Hutchinson, Shyvonne Allen, and Rachelle (Zach) Warchola; great-grandchildren, Saige and Hadley Hutchinson; and his brother Johnny along with an extensive extended family and friends.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents Tony and Mary Warchola; siblings, Charlotte, Sally, Walter, Jenny, and Alec.
Kenneth lived a life full of joy and love. His heart was always drawn to nature—whether it was spending countless hours on fishing with his family at their beloved lake lot or cutting wood and telling stories at his son’s acreage. He had a remarkable ability to make friends easily, and his warmth and genuine spirit drew people to him. Known as a collector of relationships, he truly valued connections and friendships that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
A hard worker with an incredible work ethic, he was a provider in every sense of the word. He gave so much of himself to his family, friends, and community, always putting others’ needs before his own. He was deeply in love with his family, and there was no greater joy for him than being surrounded by his children and grandchildren and all of their friends. He loved teaching his grandkids to fish, to have his children and grandchildren come over and spend time with him in the garage, this is where all the world’s problems were solved, advice and guidance were freely and lovingly given; and always had a chocolate bar ready for any child who stopped by. His home was a haven for family and friends alike, where everyone felt welcome and loved.
Kenneth had a great sense of humor and loved to joke, always brightening the lives of those around him. His devotion to his family was unmatched, and he often called his son his “best friend.” His love for children was boundless, and he delighted in their company, sharing stories and making memories that will last a lifetime.
A die-hard Toronto Blue Jays fan, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from old-time country music to the laughter of loved ones. Filled with love, kindness, and compassion, He pursued happiness not just for himself but for those around him. He embraced life fully as a giver of his time and, always there to lend a hand or offer support.
I lieu of flowers and donation can be made in Kenneth’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. As Kenneth was a nature lover consider buying a tree to be planted in his memory.
We the family deeply appreciate your kind expression of sympathy in our time of great sorrow. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Kenneth will take place at a later date. Please be patient with us, we will announce the date of the gathering soon.
My Favorite Place
By Ken Warchola
As I sit on the back of Windfall Creek,
I listen to the birds.
I watch the fish along its banks.
I smell the pine trees.
I pick and taste the blueberries
Growing among them
Do not destroy this beautiful place
So that future generations may enjoy it.
As I do.
