Obituary of Keith Rowsell
It is with immense sadness and grief that we announce the sudden passing of Keith Douglas Rowsell on Monday, February 17, 2025. Keith suffered a heart attack at home.
He was a loving and devoted husband to Constance (Connie, nee Nixon) and cherished father to Amy (Nathan) and Brad (Keiona). Adored “Pops” to Simon and Paisleigh. Beloved eldest son of Eric and the late Barbara Rowsell (nee Keats), and treasured older brother to Lynn, David (Catherine), and Kristine (John). Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews, and esteemed friend and neighbour to many more.
Keith was a fiercely proud Newfoundlander, born in St. John’s in 1958. His father’s banking career saw the family relocate to various places in Ontario before they ultimately settled in Ottawa where Keith graduated from Confederation High School in 1976. He met Connie in 1980 and they raised their family in the Leslie Park/Valleystream neighbourhoods of Ottawa where Keith was well-known as a most friendly and helpful neighbour. The majority of his professional career was with Queensway Carleton Hospital where he was a congenial and dependable colleague.
Keith was not known to be idle and had many talents and hobbies, including woodworking, gardening/lawn care, and bicycling. He loved music and was recently learning to play the piano. He appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed exploring the sights and trails of surrounding areas with Connie, especially during the years they had family dog Darwin by their side.
He never hesitated to help others and was always assisting family and friends with home/vehicle maintenance projects. Keith proudly supported his children through their educational pursuits and was a great cheerleader of his wife’s artistic talents. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by so many.
In honouring Keith’s wishes no Funeral Service will take place.
