Kazuko “Kathy” Horiguchi, age 84 years passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with her loving family by her side.
Kathy was born on June 15, 1940, in Nagano, Japan. Kathy enjoyed being outside tending to her flowers and vegetable gardens. We were blessed with many wonderful meals from her bounty. In her spare time, she would be found walking around Boulevard Lake and knitting cat toys for Kitty Kare.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her son Don (Shirley) and by her daughter Jane as well as many family in Canada and Japan.
She was predeceased by her husband Tamotsu.
The family wishes to thank Dr. G. Exley, Dr. DelPaggio, Dr. Haggerty and Dr. Sun, as well as the staff on 1A; Dr. Aly, Dr. Dykstra, Dr. Lubbers and Dr. Bezanson and all of the amazing nurses for your care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will take place in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to TBRHSC Cancer Care, Kitty Kare or to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
