Kathy’s Obituary
Kathy Jean Boudreau passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025 in her seaside home, surrounded by her children and her husband of 52 years. She was born in Victoria, BC on May 1, 1946 and grew up in a Post-War Canadian Navy family. Eventually ending up in Halifax, NS. At the age of 24, she met her future husband, Dr. Harold Boudreau – Dentist. Together, they raised three children, Luke (Chantelle), Giselle (Dorgam) and Lise Anne, living in Annapolis Royal, Digby and finally in Meteghan, NS.
Her parents, Viola and Sidney Crossley, raised her in Dartmouth, along with her brother, Frank (Marie) and sisters, Alice (Kevin), Joan, and Shirley.
Kathy was a strong and intelligent business woman. She worked as a court reporter and medical stenographer in her early years, but her passion was in the hospitality industry (owning and operating ‘A Peak at Christmas Tea Room’ and ‘The Captain’s Cabin’ restaurant in Digby for several years). She then managed her husband Harold’s dental practice for over 20 years in both Digby and Meteghan.
Kathy was a kind and generous woman that always put others first, especially her children and as Grandmère to her grandchildren – Frances, Estelle, Gabriel, Yasmine, Hunter, Logan and Markus. There never was a birthday without one of her famous homemade cakes and she loved to host a family dinner for any special occasion. Never would she let someone go without. Her generosity touched the lives of many throughout the community.
Although she is no longer with us, her memory and spirit will live on in us forever more.
