It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great woman, Kathryn Ruth Weichel (nee Plumridge) on Monday February 17, 2025, in her 70th year.
Kathryn was the beloved daughter of the late Verna Plumridge and the late Jack Plumridge, loving wife of Clark Weichel (predeceased) and devoted mother of Adam Weichel of North Bay, Aaron Weichel of Toronto, Andrew Weichel (Jess Desroches) of North Bay, Victoria Falcao (Steve Falcao) of Toronto and John Weichel also of North Bay. Andrew and John were still living at home with Kathryn. She was also a very loving grandmother to Madison, Chloe, Quinn and Freya.
Kathryn was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 31 Mount Dennis in Toronto and a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Kathryn recently retired from Tim Hortons in North Bay.
She will be missed by several brothers-in-law, sisters-In-Law, nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of North Bay Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care during Kathryn’s final hours.
As per Kathryn’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life and burial at Sanctuary Park Cemetery in Toronto will be held at a later date, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathryn’s memory may be made to ‘The PADDLE Program’.
