Obituary of Katherine Marie Shaw
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katherine Marie Shaw (Naas) of Coldbrook on February 9, 2025. Born in Yarmouth on November 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Hazel (Kinckle) Nass.
Katherine is survived by her son Thane Shaw of Coldbrook; and her brother Raymond Naas of Garden Lots, Lunenburg County.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was predeceased by her husband Hillis “Sunny” Shaw; her sons David; grandson Jesse and her only sister Anne.
For over 55 years Katherine helped her family develop Sherwood Campgrounds in Coldbrook, she took great pride in her family’s business. Katherine enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and adored observing how much fun all her campers had each year. Katherine was also an active member of the Glooscap Curling Club.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date in the Coldbrook Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Coldbrook Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive in Coldbrook N.S (902-679-2822).
