It is with our deepest
sorrow that we inform you of the death of our mother, Katherine Ruth

Kaye was an
intelligent and gifted individual who was selected at the age of 16 to
teach Grades Primary to 10 in Centre Rawdon’s one-room

reading, music, shopping and socializing at Frenchy’s, and
watching golf and romantic movies. In her final summer, she
cherished daytrips with daughter Wendy to various towns and beaches in
Southwestern Nova Scotia and going for ice cream at Nichol’s
Farm Market and Foote’s Farm Market. She dreamed
of visiting her ancestral homes of Scotland and Ireland; and she
always wanted to tour Italy’s Tuscany Valley.
Our mother was known
for her strength and resilience, and she faced life’s
challenges with unwavering determination and grace.Kaye was proud of
her children’s academic and career achievements and deserves
much credit for instilling in them a passion for reading and life-long
learning. She was blessed to have many loving and supportive
friends who unfortunately passed in the last three decades. They
include Fran Bucci, Fran Hawkins, Elmore Kenney, Kit Cann, Eva Turner,
Georgina Turner, Joan Martin, Reverend Freeman Fenerty, Rosalie and
Don Rafuse, Doris Rogers, Betty and George Stevens, Irene Wallace,
