It is with profound sadness that we must
announce that Katherine Avis (Amos)
Richard, passed away on January 19, 2025 at the Albert
House Hospice in Moncton.
She was born in Sackville, NB on October
11, 1960 to parents, Frank Erle Phinney of Midgic, NB and Elaine
Katherine (Hicks) Amos of Sackville, NB.
She resided in Sackville, with the love
of her life, Barry Wayne Austin and their special furball,
Benny.
Kathy was always a very talented and
artistic girl. In her youth there was nothing she couldn’t
do. She loved her needlepoint and her crafts. She
loved her family and she loved life. The hardest thing was
watching her health fail time and again, but she faced it like the
true spirit she was, with grace and compassion for others. She was
loved so much and now will be going on to be with mom and
dad.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her brothers, Ralfe and Donnie, and her foster parents, Raymond and
Shirley Wells.
She will be sadly missed by her common
law spouse, Barry Austin, and her siblings, Marion, Grover, Neil,
Barbara, Debbie, Eric, Danny, Jeffery, and extended
families. She will also be missed by her foster siblings,
Stephen, Stanley, Douglas, Patricia, Timothy and their families, as
well as Barry’s sons, David and Michael.
Arrangements are in the care of
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street,
Sackville (506-364-1300). As per her wishes, cremation has
taken place and there are to be no services.
