January 3rd, 2025, in her 91st year, we lost our beloved mother Katherine L Hanf or Kay as most knew her. Daughter of Auldin and Bernice Bethune (Nickerson), she lived her entire life in Forest Glen. She loved being a hostess often entertaining her guests in the sun porch overlooking the lake. She was predeceased by her husband Percy Hanf, parents and sisters: Geraldine Allen, Jean Challoner, Etta Swaine, and brother Lawrence Bethune. She is survived by twin sisters Daisy (David) Morrison and Deanna Bethune, her children; Nancy (Wayne), Brian (Charlene), Christopher (Scott). She was a proud Grammy to Holly, Amanda, Matthew, Jenny and Renee and nine great grandchildren. Our sincere appreciation to the ambulance crews and the Carleton Emergency Response team, the nurses and doctors in O.P, third and fourth floors. Sending our love and appreciation to Heather, Kim and Tracey, mom’s nieces who visited often, brought treats and were there during Mom’s last hours. Nurse Allison, thank you so much for your kindnesses. The homecare team, Mom enjoyed your visits and the time you gave her to chat for a bit. Charlene, thank you for taking Mom to her many appointments but especially to hair appointments, dining out and Christmas Teas which she enjoyed so much. There will be no visitation, and no service as per Mom’s wishes.
