It is with sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Katherine ( Kay) Joan Keays of Sus, NB announce her peaceful passing on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. Katherine was born in Saint John, NB on December 13, 1938, the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Eagles) Reardon.
She is survived by her husband George; son James (Cindy) Keays; daughters, Kathy-Ann (Michael Karder) and Kara (Buddy) Brown; three grandchildren, Candice, Kurt and Cassidy; one great-grandson, Eddie and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Margaret; sister Marlene Reardon and brother Tom Reardon.
Kay was a devoted wife to George and a very caring and supportive mother. Kay also owned and managed a small clothing store at the Gateway Mall for many years where she enjoyed interacting with all her customers and friends.
For many years Kay loved to start her day with a trip to Smitty’s where she met the “Coffee Girls” for daily chatter and laughter.
No Visitation or Funeral. A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice are appreciated by her family.
