Karen (Russell) Anderson
mars 27, 1955 — février 21, 2025
With great sadness, the family of Karen (Russell) Anderson announces her passing on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the age of 69.
Married for 50 years to the love of her life David, she was an amazing mother to Lisa (Kiley), Amy (Kendall) and her beloved grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored, Courtney (Gab), Nate, John-David, Jorja and their father Kris. Never far from their side, she was the best Nanny they could have ever hoped for and their biggest cheerleader. Mom attended countless sporting events and kept endless photos and brag books on each and every one of them. And not only was mom a proud supporter of her own little family, she was also very proud of her extended family’s life accomplishments, celebrating each of their milestones with pride.
Mom gave her love selflessly to Courtney, while providing Lisa with the opportunity to finish her education, for which mom was so very proud. A strong bond between Courtney and mom will be shared for all of eternity.
Together mom and dad spent many years travelling with their camping family and enjoying great friendships with their fellow campers. Later in life, they enjoyed each other’s company while visiting many southern destinations; loving both the serenity and the sunshine it brought to their lives.
Mom will be dearly missed by her brothers Dale (Hazel), Kevin (Lori Anne) and her many nieces and nephews: Karla Hodge (Greg), Jacob Russell (Laura), Ashley Hoyles (Daniel), Josh Russell, Nicole Mahoney (J.F) and Chris Mahoney (Kylie), her sister in law Sheree, niece Melodee Anderson (Eric) and great-niece Rhea.
Mom is predeceased by her parents Earl and Hilma (Harding) Russell, father and mother-in-law Karl and Susie (Jardine) Anderson, sister Judy Mason, brother in-law Hartley Mason, niece Janessa, nephew Buddy and great-niece Adelyn all of whom she loved dearly, missed and spoke of often.
Thank you to mom’s South Esk neighborhood and friends for all of the support you have shown our mom over the years and especially since dad’s passing. Your support for her did not go unnoticed and will not be forgotten. Thank you to Kiley for your heroic efforts upon mom’s passing and for the compassion shown to Lisa during this heartbreaking loss. A special thank you to the paramedics who showed such kindness and professionalism to our mom.
Visitation will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Interment will take place in Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to Percy’s Place would be greatly appreciated by the family.
“Mom, we thank you for the tremendous strength, love and selfless care you provided to our dad during his lengthy illness and on his passing, but most of all, your bravery and strength was truly inspiring as you continued life’s journey on your own, without the love of your life by your side. We know how difficult your journey had become and we take great comfort in knowing you and dad are now reunited again. Please give dad a big hug from all of us.”
We will love you forever and miss you always.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium, 102 Pleasant St., telephone (506) 622-7741. Where your loved one never leaves our care.
