Obituary for Judy Robertson

Judith Ann Stanton, known as Judy Robertson, came into the world on a bright, sunny day on November 12, 1953, in Vegreville, Alberta. She left us far too soon, at the age of 67, on sunny November day.
She was the youngest child of Austin and Margaret Stanton (deceased) and is survived by her brothers Jim (Paula), and John (Bev), sister-in-law Carol Stanton and predeceased by her sister, Jeanie.
Judy was a truly independent soul who dearly loved all her friends, her career and adored her dog, Neil, who she is now reunited with.
Judy had a zest for life and enjoyed it to the fullest with her family and many friends. She studied Anthropology at UBC, embracing a lifelong passion for language, culture and travel. She travelled the world immersing herself into the culture, language, and foods of the countries she visited. But most important to Judy, she delighted in meeting a vast diversity of people, she never met a stranger, and was a true friend to all who she met.
Judy nurtured her bonds with people by making everyone feel special and gave them her undivided attention. She was a rock for many. Her family and many friends became her strength when she needed them most, sharing wonderful memories, they can now hold close to their hearts.
Judy had a passion for the finer things of life. From her love of film, art, reading, cooking amazing meals and hosting loved ones in her home. She loved to indulge in fine wines, exquisite chocolate and of course, shoes. Always the fabulous shoes bought on her journeys around the world!
Although Judy left us far too soon, we find comfort in knowing she was true to herself until the very end. Surrounded by family, in a room filled with peace and light. We had the privilege of telling her we loved her.
Judy’s family ask you to now to “be like Judy”. Put on your best pair of shoes, a smile on your face, chin-up and go outside and embrace every moment of every day.
From all your family and extended family, Judy, you loved your life, and we love you. May you rest in peace – Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
