WALTERS, Judy Ann Linda – age 70, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Russel and Celeste (LeBlanc) Rodgerson.
Judy was born on November 1, 1954; she was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters in the Rodgerson family. When Judy was 14 her mom passed away; Judy was then raised by her sister Sharon and future mother-in-law Pauline. At the age of 17, Judy married her long-time sweetheart Gregory and together they had two children: (little) Gregory and Justin. In 1996, Judy’s first grandchild, Shalia was born. Judy loved Shalia with all of her heart; they spent every weekend together from the time Shalia was an infant. Judy worked hard to provide for her family, enjoying long term employment at IMO Seafoods, where she spent her days with lifelong friends Theresa Dalton and Jody Pyne.
At the age of fifty, Judy found herself single and on her own for the first time. She got her first apartment, first bank account and discovered her passion for tank tops from Eclipse. Love gave her a second chance, and she met Jody Smith. They had 15 wonderful years together; he even helped Judy get over her fear of dogs as they always had two in the house.
Judy is survived by her partner Jody Smith; children, Gregory, Justin (Julie), Jordon (Heather); daughter-in-law, Natalie; grandchildren, Shalia, Jackson, Braxton, Jace, Phoenix and Maddox; great-grandson Rowan; siblings, Russell, David Midge, Brian and Sharon.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Russell and Mary Celeste; mother-in-law, Pauline; brothers, Cecil, Robert, John David, Paul, Billy, and Donald.
Special thank-you to her favourite niece, Lori MacDonald, who treated Judy like a second mom and helped care for her over the past few years.
