It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Judi Bendick after her courageous 6 year battle against cancer. Judi was a proud 3rd generation Vancouverite who moved to the Cowichan Valley in 1970 with her husband Jake and two young infant children, David and Julie. Judi’s passions were her animals, travel, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She went onto become a travel agent and later escorting tours to exotic destinations such as the Orient, Europe, India and safari’s in Africa – with many clients becoming good friends.
Judi was a wonderful mother, caring friend and amazing woman. Her warm laughter, generous spirit and dazzling smile will be greatly missed.
She is predeceased by her parents George and Stella, husband Jake, brother Al and survived by her loving son and daughter.
Judi and her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses in the Chemotherapy Ward at Cowichan District Hospital, staff at the Jubilee Hospital Cancer Ward and Doctors V. Masuda and M. Ibrahim for all their superb compassionate caregiving, you’re all such special people. Judi also sends much love to her close circle of friends who meant so much to her.
No ceremony by request. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the B.C. Cancer Society.
