Joyce Taylor
Sharron Joyce Taylor, known fondly as Joyce to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on the 6th of June, 2025, in Straffordville, ON, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on July 20, 1943, in Tilbury, ON, Joyce’s warmth and vivacity brought light and love into the lives of everyone she knew.
Joyce’s early years were spent in the nurturing arms of her parents, Archie and Bessie (Graham) Gardiner. She grew up alongside her siblings, sharing an unbreakable bond that would last a lifetime. Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband, Lee Roy Taylor, her sisters Shirley Blair and Maxine Gardiner, Catherine Grace Gardiner, her brother Archie LeRoy Gardiner, and her brother-in-laws Rene Blair and Mervyn Quiding, as well as her in-laws Sam and Beulah (Lucas) Taylor, Lonnie and Dorothy Taylor, and her nephew Kerry Taylor.
Despite these profound losses, Joyce’s legacy is carried on through her devoted family. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Trevor and Linda Taylor; her daughter and son-in-law, Rachael Taylor and Abe Wall; her cherished grandchildren, Cassandra Taylor and David McKillop, Carol Taylor and Danielle Poirier, Leeah Wiebe, and Hunter Wall; and her adored great-granddaughters, Lilly and Delilah McKillop. Joyce’s sister Patricia Quiding, brother Rick and Pat Gardiner, and in-laws Dale and Lindy Taylor, Dora and Victor Fisher, Isaac and Marlene Taylor, Chris Taylor and Eric Geissinger, and Sam and Bonnie Taylor, along with many nieces and nephews, will remember her with love and affection.
Joyce’s professional life was marked by her unwavering dedication and service. She was a respected employee of the Bank of Montreal in Tilbury, CIBC in Port Burwell and Straffordville, and Vienna Home Center Ltd. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her involvement in her community. She was a Girl Guide Leader in Straffordville for many years. As a founding member of the Straffordville Community Committee, Joyce served as their treasurer with distinction and dedication until she could no longer fulfill her duties.
Beyond her professional and community contributions, Joyce’s personal interests filled her life with joy. She was an avid reader of the newspaper, staying informed and connected to the world around her. Shopping was more than a pastime for Joyce; it was an opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones. The time spent with her grandchildren was precious to her, and she cherished every moment. Her pup, Roxy, was a constant companion, and Joyce delighted in keeping her warm and loved.
Joyce’s life was a testament to her strength, love, and compassion. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will live on in the countless memories shared by her family and friends. As we bid farewell to Sharron Joyce Taylor, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, grace, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Her light, though no longer present in this world, continues to shine brightly in the legacy she leaves behind.
