Obituary of Joseph Benson Flint
It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Benson Flint announce his passing on February 20th, 2025. Born in Ontario on January 18th, 1978, he was the son of the late Robert and Shirley Flint.
Joe leaves behind to mourn his beautiful children Curtis Flint, Makayla Place, Asha Flint and Ella Flint, his grandsons Asher and Sawyer, special nephew James Grannan (Julie), special niece Betsy Collin (Thomas) and their children Helen Grannan and Sophie and Marcie Collin, siblings Sarah Tonn and Andrew Sham. Also left to mourn is his loving partner Susan McGrath, her sons Xavier and Alexander and family, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and the US.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister Sharon Grannan and brother-in-law Jim.
Joe was a beautiful man with a heart of gold that would help anyone in anyway he could. Joe loved to make people laugh and always had a smile the size of Texas on his face, which usually meant he was up to no good. Oh, the stories he could tell, which always ended with his infectious laugh and mischievous grin. He loved to talk and talk and talk and talk and talk some more. If there was food involved, you know where he could be found. Skip the dishes is going to miss their #1 customer.
Joking aside, if you were a friend of Joe’s, you were a friend for life and you probably have many stories of your own. He was a stand up guy, always had your back and would fight for what he believed in. They don’t make ’em like that anymore.
We all know Joe loved his country music especially George Strait, he loved his cowboy boots, he had multiple pairs, he loved his fish Jack, Nascar and football especially those Dallas Cowboys (sorry Joe for mentioning that one). But he also loved his beard! Who knew? He would often say he looked so good thanks to the best barber in town, Mike from Shamrocks Barbershop. He loved his visits there and would brag about how handsome he always looked and we’d all have to listen. “But when you look this good, well I make Mike’s job easy”. He was a character that’s for sure.
In his not nearly long enough time with us he worked for many years as a mechanic at Canadian Tire (two locations), where he met his dear friend Norm MacDonald. For the past few years Joe worked at the Bowlarama where he formed and cherished many friendships with his coworkers and customers: Art, Bob, Sue, Troy, David, Rey, Emily, Bailey, Ashley, Laura, Dom, Dexter, Wendy, Lisa, Michael, Courtney, Connor, Jen, Justin, Kyle, Cindy (C4) and Shayla too, to name a few.
We will all miss him so much.
I hope Heaven has the biggest all you can eat buffet so I’ll know where to find you. Until we meet again.
Love you
Miss you
Mean it
I’ll see you when I’m dreaming.
