John Robert English passed away at the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the age of 79 although he insisted he was 80.
Cherished husband for 60 years of Donna Mary (Campbell). Loving father of Todd (Choui) and Carolyn. Grandfather to Maly, Valerie (Pat), Stephanie (Jonathan), Jordan (Jenny), Jamie (Jazmine) and his granddaughter Abigail. Great grandfather to Annie, Declan and Opal.
Predeceased by his parents George and Tilly English; in-laws Angus and Edna Campbell; siblings Marion Book and Barry English; son Robert, brother-in-law Bruce Campbell.
John was devoted to his family and a very hard worker. He worked at International Art Crafts for 25 years before starting his own business and finishing 12 years at Kalbfleisch Brothers. He was a bus driver and a crossing guard for 10 years. He loved the kids and the people who visited with him. He coached minor hockey for over 25 years and served as president and was on the board with the Stratford Cullitons.

At John’s request cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery followed by a reception. Memorial donations in John’s memory may be made to the Stratford Perth Humane Society or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to the W.G.
