Peacefully, at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Mr. John Meade of Goderich, Ontario passed away in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Linda (Leonard) Meade for 54 years. Loving father of Monica (Paul) Hill of Varna and Kevin (Lisa Finch) Meade of Clinton. Cherished grandpa of Luke, Rachel, Kyler, Austin and Kinley. Dear brother and brother in law to Bill and Lois Meade of Oakland, Ontario, Wayne and Pam Meade, Colin and Patricia Shaw all of Port Dover, Ontario and Judy Leonard of Brantford. Also Uncle to many nephews and a niece. Predeceased by his parents Cy and Verna Meade of Port Dover and his in-laws Ross and Louise Leonard of Waterford, Ontario.
At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. A graveside inurnment service will be held at Maitland Cemetery Columbarium on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
John grew up in Port Dover and then moved to Clinton to work with Bell Canada and spent 36 years with them. He enjoyed many things in his younger years. Playing slow pitch, coaching sports, traveling, fishing and having coffee or a beer with friends. John was selfless and enjoyed the simple things in life, like time with his family.
Deep appreciation to the staff at Maitland Manor for their care of John over the last 5 years.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
