Obituary
TAYLOR, John Lawrence – 73, of East Jordan. We the family of John are saddened by his loss. He was a warrior and a charmer until the very end. He passed away peacefully with his loving wife and three children by his side at the QEII Infirmary Hospital in Halifax.
John was a well respected fisherman in the community. When he retired from fishing he went to work at the salmon farm, then on to Clearwater Seafoods Limited Partnership. He spent time working on the railroad, as a bouncer at the tavern and as an entrepreneur. He enjoyed telling stories of his adventures throughout his life until his very last breath. He was a devoted husband and loved his wife above all else.
He was survived by his wife Sandra of 45 years, his children; Trishia (Ben) of Penticton BC, Mary-Anne (Shaun) of Bridgewater, and Nathan (Kyra) of East Green Harbour, his bonus children; Cory, Lynn, and Brandon, his grandchildren; Kallie, Ethan, Matthew, Madelyn, Oliver, Kristyn, and Ryan. John had a special love in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews and all kids who would come through the door. Everyone was always welcome at John Taylor’s. Special mention to his God children; Dana, Amber, and Kara who he loved and was very proud of.
John was predeceased by his father Lawrence, mother Muriel and his brother Gordie.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Request for family flowers only. Donations of blood in his honor are asked to be made to the Canadian Blood Services. There will be no visitation. Service will be held at the Shelburne Community Centre (Fire Hall) Auditorium, 63 King Street, Shelburne on Friday, February 7th at 2:00pm. Celebration of life to follow the service in the adjacent room. Interment to take place for immediate family only.
