It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John James Dunphy at the age of 87 on January 4th, 2024 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s, NL.
Predeceased by his wife Eileen, who passed on March 21, 2012 and his parents James Dunphy and Ellen O’Driscoll Dunphy both from Tors Cove.
Born in Tors cove on August 8th 1937, John moved to Toronto as a young adult where he met
and married Eileen Rodway, who was originally from Random Island and they raised 3 boys, Kevin, Wayne and David.
Upon retirement, John and Eileen returned to NL to retire.
Left to mourn are Kevin (Christine), Wayne and David (Doreen). Grandchildren: Shawn, Amber, Kurt, Jamie, Kimberley, Kandice, Tyler and Zachary. Great Granddaughter Ava.
He also leaves to mourn his twin brother Bill (Genevieve) and sister Muriel, his relatives including his many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held in the Summer of 2025 in Tors Cove.
