John Henry Melnyk of Sherwood Park, formerly of Waskatenau passed away at home on March 3, 2025, at the age of 90 years, joining his wife, Lena.
John is lovingly remembered by his children, Joseph (Janice), Elizabeth (Norman) Campbell, Mary (Curtis) Purschke and Monica (Rob) Martin; grandchildren, Stephen (Taylor), Nicholas, Charlena, Christine (Brandon), Matthew, Mark, Ty and Brooke; step grandson, Christopher (Karine); great-grandchildren, Grayson and Palmer; along with a large extended family, friends and neighbours.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Lena; and granddaughter, Hope.
The family is eternally grateful to Darlene Dalpe for her care and assistance provided over the past few years.
A Divine Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, 5028 – 52 Street, Waskatenau. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
