John Garfield Hare Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Garfield Hare, who left us peacefully on March 7, 2025, at the age of 69. John was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth, creativity, and unwavering dedication to his family will be deeply missed.
John is survived by his loving daughters, Leah Thomas (Leigh) and Jillian Hare-Schwitek (Jason), and his son Jordan Hare, as well as his step children who he loved as if they were his own. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Zoe, Danica, Kristyn, and Nevaeh, who brought immense joy to his life. John also leaves behind his siblings and their spouses Reg Hare (Sandy), Dennis Hare (Gail), Rob Hare (Lorraine), Alfreda Brown (Winston), Charlene McCulloch (Charlie), Patty Olson, and Wynn Stroud (Glenn), who will miss him dearly.
A hardworking and creative soul, John took pride in everything he did. He had a deep love for music and was a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan, faithfully cheering them on through every season. His kindness, humour, and passion for life touched everyone who knew him.
John’s legacy of love, strength, and creativity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honour his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider donations be made to the Canadian Lung Association www.lung.ca/ in John’s memory.
Rest easy, Dad. We’ll carry your love and music with us always.
