SHARRETT, John Douglas (November 21, 1941 – March 21, 2025)
With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of John, in his 84th year, at Joseph Brant Hospital on March 21st. John was the devoted and loving husband to Suzanne (nee Alexander) for 51 years. He cherished and was so proud of his children, his son Michael and his daughter Kathryn (Justin Mueck). Grandpa will be missed by his three beautiful grandchildren: Emma Mueck and Owen and Isla Sharrett. He is survived by his brother Bill Sharrett and sister-in-law Barbara, brother-in-law Bob Alexander and his wife Louise. John will be fondly remembered by nephews Scott Sharrett, Brad Sharrett (Theresa), Matt Alexander (Nitika), Scott Alexander (Andrea) and niece Wendy Melville (Robin). Predeceased by nephew Adam Alexander. John was an employee of Dofasco for 30 years. Throughout his life he loved golfing, sailing, Formula 1, gardening, and having a beer with his good friend Peter Smith. He especially loved the summer heat and watching his family having fun in the pool. As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Our gratitude goes out to the Joseph Brant staff on 58, 78 and ICU for their care of John during the past month.
