It is with
broken hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing at home
with family by his side, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, of John
“Bruce” Martell of Montague and formerly of Georgetown and
New Perth, aged 69. Son of the late Alice (Dugas) and Raymond Martell.
Loving and devoted husband and best friend for 51 years to Marilyn
(nee Crane) Martell. Bruce was the loving and caring father of Tanya
(Ronnie) Dennis, John (Chrystal), Adam (Alana), and Tyler (Beckie)
Martell; cherished Grampy to Kendra (Bryce Stone) Martell, Jordan
(Becca Cheverie) Stewart, MacKayla (Jason MacNeill) Martell, Isaac
(Chantelle Cormier) Martell, Emily, Clarke, Brentley, and Drew
Martell; cherished Great – Grampy to Easton Stewart, Lyndy MacNeill,
Kayce Martell, and Mya and John Cormier.
Bruce
is also survived by his brother Eric (Edna deceased) and his sisters
Carol-Ann (Gordie deceased) Carter, Gail (Romeo deceased) Poirier,
Janice (Joe deceased) Mitchell-Martell, Venita (Gary) Slade, Lorraine
(Teddy) Knowles, Michelle (Keir MacLeod) Martell, and sister-in-law
Esther Martell as well as his Crane brothers-and sisters-in-law,
Deborah (Leonard deceased) Lutz, Donna (Gerard) Campbell, Clinton
Crane, Judy Crane, Stilman (Rita) Crane, Walena (Clifford) MacLaren,
and many nieces and nephews. Bruce will also be missed by his friends
at Tim Hortons.
Bruce was predeceased by his
parents, brothers Douglas and John (in infancy), and sister Marlene
Ashford-Sullivan, nephews Joseph Curley, Colby Martell, father and
mother-in-law Robert and Maude (Campbell) Crane, brothers-in-law
Arthur and Trevor Crane, and sister-in-law Robyn
Crane.
Resting at Ferguson Logan
Funeral Home with visiting hours Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 from 6-9 pm .
The funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel with
live streaming on Monday, Feb 24, at 1:00 pm.
Donations to St. David’s United Church or
327 Southern Kings Air Cadet Squadron would be
appreciated.
