It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Brian Osborne, a cherished resident of Shrewsbury, Ontario, who passed away at his home suddenly on February 20, 2025, at the age of 61.
John was born in Chatham, Ontario, and was the loving son of John and Frances (née Maynard) Osborne.
He will be remembered fondly by his stepchildren, Brady, Dustin, and Colton, who were an important part of his life. A devoted husband, John spent 14 wonderful years with his beloved wife and best friend, Linda (née Van Dusen), with whom he shared a deep bond built on love, laughter, and friendship. Their connection was one of true companionship, and Linda’s loss is immeasurable.
John leaves behind a family that will forever treasure his memory, including his siblings Frank & Bonnie, Rob, Tom, and Ted. He was also a proud and loving uncle to his nieces Amber and Natasha, and his nephews Lucas and Aiden, who will hold dear the many fond moments they shared with him.
John had a zest for life, and his love for his family farm was ever-present. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether tending to the land or gathering around a warm bonfire with his loved ones. His infectious spirit made every gathering lively, and he will be remembered for his love of good company, great music, and unforgettable celebrations. Whether hosting a party or joining in with family and friends, John always ensured that fun was at the heart of every moment.
John’s life was defined by his warm heart, his commitment to those he loved, and his unwavering genuiness. His passing leaves a deep void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Cremation has taken place and the family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to those who have supported them during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charity of your Choice may be made in John Brian’s memory.
