Joe (Robert Joseph) Dunbar
1958-2025
We the
family of Joe Dunbar (Robert Joseph Dunbar) are heartbroken to
announce his passing in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on
January 3, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on March 27, 1958 in
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, to the late Robert Dunbar and Nina
(Cantrell) Cooper and stepfather, the late Jack Cooper. He is survived
by his chosen children, Jamie (Pam) Foley, Aylesford; Mitchell Foley,
Kentville; Joanna Foley, Ellershouse; and their mom, Heather Dunbar,
Kentville. He is also survived by his siblings, Brian Dunbar, Texas;
Candy Kasal, Las Vegas; and Carla Dunbar,
Ohio.
Joe had many professions in his
lifetime. He was 17 when he joined the US Navy as a boiler technician,
worked at the University of Michigan as a boiler technician, a chemist
at Pepcon chemical plant, Henderson, Nevada and Utah and a pharmacy
technician at Valley Regional Hospital.
His love in life was his dogs,
Shadow, Cheyenne and Shawnee. He also loved cooking, football, and
reading Tom Clancy books.
We would like to thank the staff
at Valley Regional Hospital, Med B, and the Dialysis Unit as well as
Dr. Suiter and Dr. Ozon for their kindness and
care.
In keeping with Joe’s
wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Joe was a very
proud American and part of his ashes will be spread in Texas where his
mothers were spread. Donations in memory may be made to the Dialysis
Unit at Valley Regional Hospital or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
Joe, you have left this
earthly life too soon but are now pain free and will
be with your mom.
You will always be loved and in our hearts and never
forgotten…Till we meet again. We will always love
you.
