Joanne Mae Blaney
1939-2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother,
Joanne Mae Blaney (nee Meade) on May 18, 2025, at the age of 85.
Joanne was born to Elizabeth (Morehouse) and Malcolm Meade on August
25, 1939 in Millville, NB.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Albert), Vicki, and
Suzanne (Roger); her sons, Timothy (Chris) and Steven (Joy); her
grandchildren Craig, Tabitha, Melanie, Jonathan, Christine, Alexander,
and Emily; seven great grandchildren Annika, Izabella, Jamie, Jorja,
Timothy, Emerson, and Jaxon; two brothers-in-law, Arden Thornton and
Roy MacDonald; many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Joanne was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband of 56 years
Henry James William (Bill) Blaney; her sisters Marguerite Thornton and
Jean MacDonald; and son-in-law Roger Tremblay.
Joanne enjoyed a full life. She loved visiting with her friends and
being involved in community activities. She was always up for a road
trip regardless of the destination. She especially loved the themed
dinner parties her family would host and would get in the full throes
of things.
A longtime resident of Millville, Joanne moved to Nackawic in her
later years. There she formed new friendships with the residents of
the Villa and with her church community.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gharavi, Nurses, and the staff of
the Upper River Valley Hospital for their kind and compassionate care
during our Mom’s stay.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB next Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 12 noon until 2
pm, followed by the memorial service at 2 pm with Pastor Ken Stoddard
officiating. Interment at the Millville Cemetery followed by a
reception at her daughter Suzanne’s home in Upper Queensbury.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Blaney, Steven Blaney, Craig Blaney,
Jonathan Tremblay, Alexander Tremblay and Albert Martin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Millville
Cemetery.
