Obituary of Joan Angela Levesque
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Angela Levesque (nee Plunkett), who left us peacefully on July 17, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Windsor, Ontario. Born on July 5, 1943, Joan lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.
Joan was the cherished daughter of Joseph Plunkett (1963) and Angela Plunkett (2001) (nee Masse). She was the devoted wife to Lawrence Levesque, with whom she shared an enduring marriage of 60 years. Their love was a testament to commitment, friendship, and the joy of companionship.
Joan was a loving mother to her children, Donna Levesque, the late Joseph Levesque (2008), the late Karen Dicks (2025) and Emily Levesque (Cameron Hennin). She was also a beloved grandmother, taking great pride in her grandchildren, Mali Dicks (Nicolas Morgan) and the late Adam Dicks (2000). Loved mother in law of Jeff Dicks. Her home was always a hub of love and laughter, where family gatherings were cherished traditions. Joan is also predeceased by her parents-in-law, Lawrence Sr. (2007) and Rose (1983) Levesque.
A social butterfly, Joan was known for her infectious sense of humor and her ability to light up a room. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her kindness extended beyond her immediate family. Joan grew up very close to the Plante family, who lovingly considered her one of their own siblings. She also maintained a strong bond with her aunt Doreen Theaker, who was an important figure in her life.
Joan lived her life with passion and purpose. She enjoyed walking, marching, and steel drumming, which brought her immense joy. Her culinary skills, especially her knack for cooking pasta, were legendary among her family. Everyone looked forward to her delicious meals and the warmth they brought to family gatherings.
Throughout her life, Joan also dedicated her time to volunteering as a monitor at local schools, reflecting her commitment to fostering community and nurturing the next generation. Her legacy of love and service will forever be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation directly to the family to help support them during this difficult time.
As per Joan’s wishes a burial will take place.
