Joan Maurice, known to some as Miss Joan, to others as Auntie Joan and to family as Mom and Nanny, passed peacefully at the age of 77 on January 9th 2025. Joan met her sweetheart and husband of 58 years Rodrick Mckinnon on the Lower North Shore of Quebec where she was a teacher for more than 30 years. She left a lasting impression on all those she met with her kind-heartedness and spirited nature. Though life was not always easy, Joan’s faith never wavered and everyday was met with a beautiful outfit, makeup, hair done, and jewelry on.
Survived by her children; Lennox (Trisha), Michael (Melanie), Colleen (Harvey), Vince, and Gina-Lynn (Richard), her grandchildren; Nicholas, Jacob, Anne-Marie, Scott, Beth, Blake, Rachel, Nora, Austin, and Lee; her great-grandchildren; Agie, Tate, Caleb, Jack, Eddy, Issak, Loralie, and Florence. And her little fur baby Skippy.
Due to the current situation, a service and celebration of life will be scheduled when arrangements can be made to bring Joan home to Saint-Augustine.
